The 2010-2011 Awards Night & Party was held on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Quite a few students can earn this award.

Students receiving this award can be 6th, 7th, or 8th graders who have demonstrated consistent and overwhelming improvement in playing ability, musicianship, attitude, and/or responsibility.

Quite a few students can earn this award.

Students receiving this award can be 6th, 7th, or 8th graders. In order to be considered for this award, they must first demonstrate the following characteristics:

• is a leader without being bossy
• responsible
• reliable
• positive attitude
• respects others
• well-prepared
• enthusiastic and encouraging to others
• excellent attendance at our rehearsals
• attends all performances (or completes make-up assignment if excused absence)
• practice record and exam average a "B" or higher
• at least a "B" average in Band for the year
• good musician; not necessarily the best player, but parts are learned

Students receiving this award can be 7th or 8th graders. In order to be considered for this award, they must first demonstrate the following characteristics:

• a member of the Concert Band
• is a leader without being bossy
• responsible
• reliable
• positive attitude
• respects others
• well-prepared
• enthusiastic and encouraging to others
• excellent attendance at our rehearsals
• attends all performances (or completes make-up assignment if excused absence)
• practice record and exam average a "A" or higher
• at least a "A" average in Band for the year
• demonstrates outstanding ability on his or her instrument

The Director's Award is given to an outstanding 8th grade student who, at all times, has demonstrated the following characteristics:

• qualities of the Merit and Outstanding Musicianship Award winners to the utmost
• shows pride in oneself and in our band
• excellent musician
• consistent throughout all three years at RMS
• at least an "A" average in all three years at RMS

In short, the recipient of the Director's Award is someone who Mrs. Silveira would be proud to have representing our Band Program.
